Interview tips

Use the job post as your interview brief

Do not prepare from a blank page. Start with what the job post already told you.

Before the interview

  • Re-read the job-fit report and mark the skills the post keeps coming back to.
  • Prepare one real story for each high-priority requirement.
  • For each gap, write the answer before they ask: what you know, what you have done, and how you would ramp up.
  • Bring two questions about the work itself, not only the company.

Story structure

S

Situation: what was happening and why it mattered.

T

Task: what you owned and what success looked like.

A + R

Action and result: what you did, what changed, and what you would repeat.

After the interview

  • After the call, log the outcome, next step, and any promised date.
  • Keep high-priority roles in Follow Up so they do not disappear after a busy week.
  • If an interview exposed a resume gap, update Resume Hub before the next application.
